Respawn Entertainment and DICE are Working on a New Battlefront Title

A new report has claimed that DICE and Respawn Entertainment are working on a new project at EA, which will be a new Battlefront title.

Rumors of a new Battlefront title surfaced earlier this week, but Bloomberg now reports that Respawn Entertainment and DICE are developing it.

New Battlefront is in Development

It’s currently unclear what the game will entail, but obviously, it should be expected that the title will be called Battlefront 3.

Soon after Battlefront 2’s release in 2017, EA leadership shut down a sequel (Battlefront 3) because of the 20% licensing fee Disney takes on the project.

In 2021, I was told that EA leadership believed that they could make more money for the same amount of work because of this (alluding to just developing new Battlefield titles).

As for what this new move means for the future of Battlefield, Insider Gaming understands that the next Battlefield title is in early development, but that it’s not due to release for some time. Speculatively, it’s probably a late 2028 title at the very earliest.

The news comes amid a new Battlefront title, as EA made a wave of announcements today, including the cancellation of the next Mass Effect game and the complete closure of BioWare, which will leave 400 developers unemployed.
