Pre-order buyers will be able to play the DMZ mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 before the game launches, Inven Global reported.

The outlet said Call of Duty's official YouTube channel posted a DMZ early access gameplay trailer of about 1 minute 36 seconds, which walks through the general flow of the mode and spells out the pre-order perk.

DMZ is the second early access window Infinity Ward and Activision have lined up, after campaign access.

Early Access Dates

Forbes contributor Brian Mazique lists campaign early access from October 16 and DMZ early access from Tuesday, October 20. Both apply to digital pre-orders of the Standard or Vault Edition. The full worldwide launch is Friday, October 23.

Inven Global's Korean-time listing puts campaign access on the 17th and DMZ on the 21st, a day later than the Forbes dates. The launch date is the 23rd in both.

PC players on digital pre-orders can preload from October 15 at 9am PT, according to Forbes.

What the DMZ Guide Covers

Activision published a DMZ deep dive (callofduty.com) on October 9 that focuses on the Forward Operating Base, the hub players return to between runs. It lists an Operators Station, where you recruit operators, handle MIA operators and work through three trait trees.

It also covers DMZ Operator Prestige, a DMZ Orders Station, a Stash and Loadout Station and a firing range.

The guide's early access heading confirms the October 20 start. The Vault Edition page on the official site also lists a DMZ Deployment Bonus alongside one season of BlackCell, though it does not detail the bonus.

Platforms and Editions

Modern Warfare 4 is heading to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2. Forbes says PC players can get it through Steam, Battle.net and the Xbox app, and that there are no PS4 or Xbox One versions.

Forbes lists US pricing of US$69.99 for the Standard Edition and US$99.99 for the digital-only Vault Edition. Australian pricing has not been listed in the material published so far. The outlet also says the game will not be on Game Pass at launch.

Story and Multiplayer

The campaign starts with North Korea launching a full-scale invasion of the Korean Peninsula, according to the official site.

A young squad of South Korean soldiers fights to survive on the collapsing front lines, while Captain Price wages a personal war from the shadows. Forbes names Private Park as the character players control in the Korean storyline.

Multiplayer launches with 12 new 6v6 maps.

For players who want the full package early, the order is campaign first, then DMZ, then multiplayer on October 23.
