Sometimes you don’t need explosions, elaborate stories or another world to save. Sometimes you just want to match some tiles and switch your brain off for a while. Dominus Mahjong Arcana is now available on Xbox, offering a straightforward Mahjong experience designed around relaxation and gradually increasing difficulty.

Priced at £4.19, the game is available in separate versions for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Windows PC.

At A Glance

  • Game: Dominus Mahjong Arcana
  • Formats: Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows PC
  • Price: £4.19
  • Publisher: YUME GAME STUDIO
  • Developer: YUME GAME STUDIO
  • Genre: Mahjong / Puzzle

Forty Levels Of Mahjong

Dominus Mahjong Arcana contains 40 levels, with the difficulty steadily increasing as you work through them. It’s a simple formula, but one that should appeal to anyone looking for something uncomplicated to dip into.

The game also puts some emphasis on its presentation, pairing the Mahjong challenges with charming visuals and a soothing soundtrack.

In other words, this isn’t trying to reinvent Mahjong. It’s giving you a collection of puzzles to work through at your own pace.

Or Bring A Friend Along For The Ride

There are also bundles available for anyone who wants more for their money.

The Dominus Mahjong Arcana And Golden Traverse Bundle costs £6.69, with versions available for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Windows PC. Each bundle combines the new Mahjong game with previously released Golden Traverse.

We’ve already taken a look at Golden Traverse, awarding it 2/5 in our review. Let’s just say our arcade cravings weren’t exactly satisfied by that particular experience.

Still, if you’re primarily interested in the Mahjong side of the bundle, the new arrival could provide a rather more peaceful way to spend an evening.

A Quiet One For The Xbox Library

Dominus Mahjong Arcana isn’t pretending to be anything more complicated than a relaxing Mahjong game, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want.

With 40 levels, gradually rising difficulty and an appropriately calming presentation, it could be a handy little addition for those moments when you want something to play without having to invest too much time or brainpower.

At £4.19 from the Xbox Store (in three versions – Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows PC), there’s certainly no need to gamble the family fortune on it either.
