The Elden Ring Movie Reportedly Has A Budget Of Nearly $200 Million

A report in the Wall Street Journal has revealed that A24’s upcoming movie adaptation of Elden Ring has a budget of nearly $200 million, which is the most expensive film the studio has made to date. Previously, the budget was estimated at “well over” $100 million.

Prior to Elden Ring, A24’s most expensive movie produce was Marty Supreme, which was around $70 million. The majority of the WSJ article is focussed more on how A24 is gradually becoming quite a big name in Hollywood, with Julie Huntsinger, director of Telluride Film Festival, stating, “they’re a Goldilocks company. Just the right amount of people doing just the right amount of things.”

Earlier this year, Bandai Namco Entertainment revealed that the Elden Ring movie will arrive in cinemas on March 3, 2028 and will feature a main cast including Kit Connor, Ben Whishaw, Tom Burke, Jonathan Pryce, and Nick Offerman. Back in July, a prop manufacturer revealed that production on the film had wrapped.

Elden Ring was released in February 2022 for PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One. The game was developed by FromSoftware and directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, the creator of the Souls franchise, with creative input from Game of Thrones writer George R.R. Martin.
