It’s September 1st in New Zealand and on the east coast of Australia, and that means the Nintendo Switch 2 price has risen. The recommended retail price of the Nintendo Switch 2 is now $769.95 AUD, a price rise of almost seventy dollars. In New Zealand, they got absolutely slammed, with the price moving from $799.95 NZD to $969.95 NZD.
Nintendo gave everyone, except for Japan, almost five months to get ready for the price increase, which it said was in “response to various changes in market conditions, which are expected to extend over the medium to long term”. The price of the original Nintendo Switch was unchanged.
We’ve already seen pricing for bundled hardware, with the Nintendo Switch Sports Resort bundle coming in at $814.95 AUD. We’re expecting other bundles that come in the future to be even more expensive, as Nintendo Switch Sports Resort is one of the cheaper Switch 2 games.
